Stargazing on Roundhill

We had a great evening last Friday with the Bath Astronomers, part of Herschel Society.

We were fortunate to get a clear night on the first attempt this time.  It was pretty cold but we had a good turnout throughout the evening.  Charles had brought his telescope and was able to show us star clusters, nebulae and the binary star systems in the Gemini constellation.  Meanwhile Dick was giving a beginner's guide to the night sky - from Orion to the Plough to Cassiopeia.

Thanks guys for a great night!

Well done

I thought the astronomers did a really good job at engaging with the young people that turned up. Have a look at their website:
