About Friends of Roundhill

Friends of Roundhill is a non-political group committed to enhancing and looking after The Roundhill, Southdown, and its landscape, heritage and wildlife value, for the benefit of the local community and wildlife. To fulfil this aim, the group will work in partnership with key stakeholders and Bath & North East Somerset Council to:

  • support the local community to enjoy, discover and care for the heritage and biodiversity of the site;
  • develop a conservation management plan for the site and support its implementation; to include access improvements, and wildlife and heritage conservation management;
  • engage with the local community and provide opportunities for them to identify and express their concerns, ideas and aspirations for the site;
  • give the site a higher profile, and increase community involvement in the site, through activities, events, practical conservation, improved access, publicity and promotion;
  • identify and secure resources and carry out fundraising for specific projects and initiatives identified in the management plan;
  • achieve a Green Flag award.
